Hey guys. Well the moment I've been waiting for, for what seems like an eternity is just over a week away. My best friend from back east is coming to ride Utah for a whole week and we'll hit Fruita, Moab, the Swell, St. G and Bryce.
Anyway there's one leg of the trip I could use a little help on. :2thumbs:
On day 3 or 4 we'll need a little break from riding and will be camping and hiking in the swell near LWH. After that we'll be driving to Bryce via highway 12 from Hanksville.
Having never driven on 12 past Capitol Reef I'm not sure what to expect and I'd hate to miss a really scenic hike right off the road b/c I didn't know it was there.
Do you have any good suggestions for any of these off hwy 12 between Cap. Reef and Bryce N.P.?
1) non-technical but skinny slots
2) short day hikes with views
3) primitive or developed campgrounds (or just good BLM camping)
4) rock art/petroglyphs
My friend's never been to Utah and a lot of it is still new to me so this will be a week to remember. :hail2thechief: I'm sure I'll post about 3 bazillion pictures when we return :lol8:
(by the way, a bazillion = 1 million x 1,000 zillion)
Thanks for your help! Ian
