Hollywood Snake Bite Remedy

We all know why we shouldn't put a tourniquet on a snake bite victim, but this story give a reason I'd never heard of. If you put a tourniquet on the venom won't spread, and in its concentrated state will be more likely to kill the tissue it has contacted. Also, the antivenin won't be able to get to the affected area to counteract the poison.

Side note: a tourniquet is never suggested as a way to stop severe cranial bleeding :haha: .

I don't care what anybody says.... John Wayne used the tourniquet and cut method in "True Grit" with that bratty girl and she lived, with her arm. If you can't trust a man who eats corn dodgers, rides a horse with the reigns in his teeth and takes out three bad guys with his six shooter and rifle both blazing at the same time, who can you trust? Jeez, What is this world coming to anyway?
