Every summer the old man wants to take a trip somewhere. We always have high hopes of getting all my brothers and brother-in-law to come, but it usually ends up just being the two of us. Anyway, this year we went up to Green River Lakes in the Wind Rivers. It of course was great fun, and the Winds never cease to amaze me every time I go. I still don't have a still camera so I borrowed my parents $60 digital camera, needless to say it was hard to get decent shots, but I worked with what I had and some turned out ok, even if the picture quality isn't the best. Yes I suck at taking photo's with people in them, but you'll just have to deal with it  .

Eric.

P.S. I now know where the Green River's name came from, above the upper lake it is a rich Emerald Green!

P.P.S. I am convinced the end of August is the time to go to the Winds, weather was warm in the day, cold at night, and virtually NO BUGS!!!

This is my absolute favorite canoe trip of all times. So relaxing and beautiful. I agree the end of August is primo.

The Finis Mitchell book says you can hike to the top of Square Top and back in a day. He said he even brought a 4 y.o. on the hike. I don't think there's a trail the last 1/3 though.
