After finishing the season with a .500 record, we (E Z OUTZ) entered the tournament and won our first 2 games to remain in the winners bracket. Last night was championship night and we had to win our 7 o'clock game to play for the championship at 9 o'clock or if we lost we would go to the losers bracket and have to play right after at 8 o'clock.
When game time came we were still missing 2 players so luckily one DIE-HARD guy who I don't think even played on anyones team all year showed up hoping someone might need him to play......WE NEEDED HIM. Another guy from another field was leaving and offered to play with us....WE NEEDED HIM ALSO!!!!
We lost by 6 runs in the 7 o'clock game to the SCRUBS and punished PETERSEN INC. in the 8 o'clock game. Finally we had some momentum going for us. We then played the SCRUBS for championship at 9 o'clock. Championship games are 7 innings (no time limit). It was a battle for the first 4 innings, then we slowly pulled away and won the first game by 16.
Since they were in the winners bracket and we in the losers, we had to play them again since we both had only one loss. So championship game #2 we played the same way we did in the first one.....BASE HIT...BASE HIT...BASE HIT...one after another. After another 7 LONG innings we pulled away and won by 12 and won the WEBER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP.
We played from 7 P.M. - 11:45 P.M. Non Stop and it was well worth it.
