In 1984? I was racing at Daytona and got to see a shuttle lift off. Is one on the most amazing things I have ever witnessed. Its one of those things that photos or video do not do justice. If you ever get the chance to watch a live lift-off go for it, you will not be disappointed.
Anyone else here been fortunate enough to witness a lift-off?

I watched this. I was awestruck watching the stats (time, distance and speed). 7 minutes into it, 14,000 miles per hour! :eek2:
Happy 4th everybody.http://uutah.com/forum/images/smiles/smilie_flagge13.gif
On a side note, relating to the "getting old" thread, I find that in the last few years I'm getting a little more emotional. I had such a sense of pride in seeing the shuttle take off today, being Independance day, my eyes were welling up a bit.
