Forest Plan Forum at Southern Utah University - Dixie and Fishlake National Forests
The Forest Service, in cooperation with the Utah Rural Development Council, will convene a Forest Plan Forum on June 28-29 at the Haze Hunter Conference Center at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. The intent of the Forum is to share information about the Proposed Land Management Plan, to stimulate dialogue between participants about the different perspectives on forest management, and to expand relationships between the Forest Service and forest users to help implement the plan.
You are invited to join the Forest Service and other participants for this event. The event is for all interested people and groups. It is free to attend.
The Forum is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 28, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 29. An Open House will also be held on June 28 from 5:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. for all attendees, as well as for those who are not able to make the proceedings during the day.
The Forum will feature a keynote address by Don Snow, a well-known author on western issues. Links to the Proposed Land Management Plan are posted to the Dixie National Forest website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/dixie/ and the Fishlake National Forest website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/fishlake/. Information for participants at the Forum is also available on the forest planning weblog at http://www.ecosystem-management.org/dixie/blog/ including an agenda, biographical sketches of participants, and information about some of the other perspectives that may be explored as part of the Forum.
