Nothing in the picture really provides scale. how big is he?

Trying to remember. It is approx. 3ft tall maybe a little more. This shot is panned back a little further.

How did you find it? Were you sitting and just noticed it, did someone notice while walking by it?

Does it look as good from other angles, say from in front, in line with the nose?

We noticed it walking up the trail. It sits off to the right about 15 yards off of the trail. My wife and I noticed it at almost the same time. As you start getting close to the narrowing canyon, there is a flat slab ramp you have to walk up. It is just a little ways after that , that you will find mister Grumpy.
