What I mean by this is how do I take some of my favorite songs off of my favorite cds and make a compilation cd that is still in the original cd format (not mp3)? Any help on this would be appreciated very much.

It depends on what type of program you are using.
Basically you can make 3 types of discs, in general. Audio CDs, MP3 CDs, and DATA CD ROMs.
Most music programs give you the option of which type you are to make, so you need to figure out how to switch to AUDIO DISC in your program.
For example, say in iTunes, you'd go to preferences>advanced>burning
then select the AUDIO CD disc format.
most cds today, you can burn up to 80 minutes of music, whereas if you burn them as an MP3 disc (readable by computers and mp3 players) you can put on 10x that amount of time. if you just wish to back it up and store it on a dvd, you can put 60-70x that much. and just for fun, if you had a 60GB ipod you could put about 850x that much.

Okay, thanks. I have Roxio and right now I'm making a disc. Then I'll go see if it works.
