Shuntavi, his wife and the rest of his posse took us on this trail. What a GREAT trail! It is similar to Gooseberry Mesa. But it is much flatter and the single track is much more sandy. It has a great combo of slickrock and single track through the trees. Some sick drops too! I would give the trail an 8. I didn't get the best pics....have to go back.

I really need a full susser after riding this trail. Time to work some persuasion..... :naughty: Thanks again to Shuntavi and the posse.......some really nice people. :2thumbs: And the day ended with the Mandalay Bay and CRAB FEST 2006!!!! :eat:

Coming soon, helmet cam footage! I just dubbed it to my PC tonight.

I will have it cut, dried, and backed with a soundtrack this week.

We were all dead tired on the ride home. The food was amazing......but the drive sucked. Took a peek from the outside of a club there at the casino called RumJungle. Chicks dancing in cages and stuff.....pretty crazy. :slobber: Not to mentioned the scenery in the casino was a solid A. We had to drag fro man outta there.....lots of talent bouncing around. :lol8:

Looks like some fun stuff - can't wait to head to that area again for some new trails.

Are directions posted for the Guacamole trail or do you have to know the secret handshake to find the trailhead?

What are some other good ones in the Hurricane area besides:
Gooseberry
Slickrock Swamp
Little creek
Guacamole
Jem/Goulds/Hurr rim
.....?

Would you say that this trail is more geared towards downhillers? I noticed that some of the riders had the full gear on??? Also what trails are more cross country oriented? have some climbs etc? Thanks!!!

speaking as an all around rider, ANYONE can ride this trail. Several of us were padded up because it was cold...& we ride a bit off the normal when we feel like it mostly. It is no more difficult than the Slickrock Trail in Moab but there is so much variety that we could have a ball bombing off stuff that would really hurt to mess up without padding :haha: or just cross country it and enjoy. I sound like I am selling this trail but MAN it was a BALL :2thumbs:

Looks like a helluva lot of fun!!

After May of this year I'm gonna be looking into getting a new mtn bike, and getting really involved in this sport. Keep me posted on when your biking trips are this summer. I'd love to join ya! :2thumbs:

I think you'd do really well. You'd be keeping up better than me. It will be fun to get more forum members together for rides, as I found out on this last trip.

I think the dogs put on five miles for every one we rode!

OK, I've finally completed the video. This was a bugger, because the footage is so bouncy, mainly because my legs were so hammered from the previous day. I couldn't stay off my seat long.

Here's the link if you missed it up top:

We had a great ride. The company was good and the riding was too. I hope you guys can make it down again sometime, it was nice to meet you all and I really enjoyed riding with you all.

Guacamole is a favorite of mine. I love the trail, it is secluded and quiet, close to Zion, awesome views of West Temple. It is a XC trail to most, a All Mountain trail to many and a Freeride trail to some. There is something for everyone on it. Being that the slickrock is open territory there is a lot to do and a lot of drops and roll ins that could keep you busy all day exploring them.

We rode the outer tortilla loop. It ends up being about 8 miles. I GPS'ed it that day and I can upload the file if anyone is interested.

Once again, great riding!
