Just for fun:

Both these places are pretty unknown and seldom visited. They are very scenic though.

Try to guess where they are. You may ask for clues.

Are they in Utah?

Yes, but I was hoping for a more detailed description.

That was a question :haha:

I just wanted to narrow down where to look.

That second picture sure looks like the Henry Mountains. Table Mountain, maybe? Am I even close?

Ah, maybe the Vernal area?

Ashley Mountains or something like that perhaps.

Speaking of which, have you found any good canyoneering up there in the 3 corners area?

Wow Scott! Nice Utah Ute shirt. Are you from Utah or a Utah grad?

I only need the partners to complete the technical ones, and it seems no one is interested in heading to the area when I ask online.

I'd love to go. My big issue is getting time with work, school and family. But my school days are number!! I graduate in May, so let me know next time you're heading up there!

Last I heard Mike's next book was going to be a revision of his "Hiking the CP". Is that the book coming out in the Spring?

And yeah, you are correct about not much being available in the way of guidebooks for the Dinosaur area. I was looking for info this spring for good family hikes and what is available is pretty thin.

I hadn't been out to Dino Land for a long time so we just did the tourist stuff mostly.... took the kids to the dino quarry, hiked Harper Corner, which is a great family hike. Visited the petro's up Dry Fork.

I probably go back in 2006 and will hit you up for some good ideas.

This has got to be east of Split Mountain canyon area but the 'famous' one's name I can't remember - drive past it every time I head for Fruita.
