Wow!! I finally found a place that covers all of the things I love.

Born and raised in Southern Utah (thats a different state than Up North) I now have to drive home from Denver to have a good time.

Its worth it and do it quite regulalry.

These days I mostly bring my ATV with my Mt. Bike mounted on the back and combine the two.

I recently wrote a book with my brother "Paiute ATV Trail Guide" about the incredible Paitue ATV Trail system surrounding my home town of Marysvale.

My brother runs www.atvutah.com (and a bunch of ther related sites). I hang there quite a bit.

Anyway, I have lived all over, traveled most of the interesting bits and I still think Utah ROCKS!!!

For my first contribution, how about a little music video, made from a few of my trips to Moab this summer.

PLEASE right click this link and select "Save Link as.." to download it to your local drive before viewing.

Moab Video 25MB version (http://www.atvutah.com/video/moab4-M.mov) <--click here
*Note: These are identical, one will appear larger on your sceen than the other.

There is also a video on the Paiute Trail and the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree starring yours truly.

ATV Magazine TV 12MB version (http://www.atvutah.com/video/ATVMagTVPaiute03-dv-M.mov) <--click here

Thanks to ATVUtah.com for hosting these videos.

These will require you have the new Apple QuickTime 7 viewer installed on your computer. It is free to download from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html if you do not already have it.

Welcome aboard Redman. I have an ATV question; do you know where I could find some good info about the Amasa Valley trails recently built up in the House Range? I don't ATV, but have some friends that do.

Cool video about the Piute trail. Who are you in the video? I have been in the Tushar Mountains a couple of times and was completely shock over how beautiful and wild the land it. And how completely ATV accessible it is. If I owned an ATV that is where I would ride. In fact I urged a former coworker of mine to go down there and try it. Now it is an annual event for he and his riding buddies.

Hello and welcome RedMan. I ride a big KTM dual sport and I am very interested in the Paiute trail system. I have heard about it. My Dad, friends and I are always looking for long trips. I might need your book.

Here is a picture of my bike on the Tuweep trail in southern Utah.

Thanks all.

James_B_Wads2000,
I'm the guy in the green shirt giving a little narrative in a few shots on the video.

I love your quote from Waldo Wilcox. My Grandmother was a Wilcox, I imagine we're related. I'd love to visit the ranch. Perhaps I'll make some posts from my petroglyph collection.

Amasa Valley is VERY cool. The whole area is quite interesting. One of the least traveled parts of the state. I once spent three years there one summer whne I was in the Army :) (Actually I worked a summer there in High School) Its named after a Poligamist that lived there in the 18xx.
Here is some info on the Amasa Valley.
Its here: http://www.lat-long.com/Utah/Amasa-Valley_1425101.html
Its a good place to look for a little placer gold, check the stream in Miller Canyon. Very fine stuff.

This is one of the secret places in Utah so don't tell anyone okay???
I do not have a lot of photos, but it is on my list of return places next year.
Get a decent topo, or some software like Nat Geo TOPO! and print some maps and just go out there. Its pretty much wide open. If you really want an adventure you can just keep heading south until you hit St. George. Of course every side canyon along the way has a story to tell.

accadacca,
Man I wish I had the cash for another big toy. I've been ogling dual sports for some time. The fact that KTM keeps winning Dakar makes me like them. The Paiute is a GREAT place for Dual Sports. A good combination of fast dirt roads sprinkled with trails through the woods. The "Official" trail has something like 236 miles of marked trail. It connects something like 3,000 miles of roads and trails that you can ride.

I got into ATV's because I could only get so far on my Mt. Bike and as much as love biking it really limits me on distance. I also tend to carry a lot more stuff, cameras and such. It makes me go a little slower than a dirt bike so I see a lot and my Muse loves riding with me. hoohooo!

See Muse: (she hates this picture)

Nothing like smoking BYU to seal the deal. :bootyshake:
Thank you Mr. LaTendresse, nice catch. :hail2thechief:

Enjoy the Bay area. Make sure take some time to hang out in the city.
I worked about 2 miles south of the park, lived in Foster City, a few years ago.

I like to visit, but its hard to get away out there. I feel the same way about NYC. Won't live there again either.

I'll probably miss that game. I plan to be camping in Moab. There is always Tivo, just don't tell me what happened.

Exactly. Welcome to the site, RedMan.

Those specialty sites are still great, but most of us have more than one hobby. Nice vids.
