digi-camcorders?

Wife and I are thinking about getting a new camcorder. Ours is around 8 years old.
Does anyone have a hard-drive camcorder? It seems like the way to go, but I know diddle squat about them. Help!

When I was shopping this year, I thought about the DVD camcorders. I ended up getting a JVC from Best Buy, with the Mini 8 digital tapes.

I'm pretty happy with it. It also has the still shot feature, but the quality sucks. It's under 1 megapixel in resolution. You can put an SD card in there too.

I'll get the model number for you tonight for a review.
