:2thumbs: I can totally see the Bela Lugosi thing being one of the songs they did, but to do Dark Entries - now that's cool! One of my favourite Bauhaus songs.

We just missed being into Bauhaus when they were still around. Got into them about the same time that Love and Rockets were starting up. Did get into Peter Murphy's solo stuff, too. We went and saw him, in fact, in London in 1988 - great show, very much a showman (poser?) Got a pic of him signing stuff for us around here somewhere...

Went and saw a Bauhaus reunion here in Vancouver in 1996. Excellent show!

I am yet to actually see them live, but I want to. I was out of the country when they came around for the reunion tour in 1998 when they actually came to Utah. I got a couple of iTunes gift cards for Christmas and so I picked up their new (2008) album "Go Away White" and it included those two videos.

It's actually a really good album and totally fits with the rest of their stuff really well. Some reunion albums sound a bit too forced and fake, but this one doesn't at all.

Rocking out to some Frank Black.

Holy cow, I don't remember that Frank Black video at all! I guess back in the day I was boycotting music television...

You've got me going through the mental vaults, now. Pixies, in store appearance, in support of Doolittle, 1989:

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_O_8PLe3Zn6g/S1F-FiEy2II/AAAAAAAAU7k/w-YGUQdTIbY/s720/scan0018.jpg

I have that banner in the background, signed by the band members, on a shelf in the storage room. One of my most prized possessions.

So, if I'm going to listen to post-Pixies projects (P3?) here's The Breeders, doing Cannonball:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AsId-qVIb4

And another Frank Black song. No video, but with a name like Solid Gold, how can you go wrong? Recorded live to 2-track recorder, and must be played loud.

I've been listening incessantly to the tracks our band recorded last weekend. Gotta get this mix right and master the thing and get some CDs made! It's been time consuming but fun. When we get 'em done I'll post something.

Oh, the title is "Acoustic Shadows Pays Tribute to Bill Joel" You all are gonna love it :roflol:

Heh - yeah. At work, everyone jokes that they know when I've chosen the station on the satellite radio - because the singers suddenly sound so angry. :hair:

We can usually count on Lithium ('90s Alternative and Grunge) staying on until the first Rage Against the Machine song plays. :haha:

Faction (Punk, Ska & some Hip-hop) usually only lasts a song or two. On midnight shifts, when I'm on my own, it lasts longer...

A kind of hidden jewell : in 1978, Camel released a so-so album of progressive rock that included a song called Summer Lightning.

The first 3 minutes of this song are not really interesting (with a surprising disco rythm).... but then Andrew Latimer begin a almost 2:45 Minute impressive and luminous guitar solo that had always make me happy for more than 30 years.

Somebody had the good idea to upload on Youtube just the guitar solo part of this song :

It's Bob Weir and Phil Lesh from The Grateful Dead. Along with John Kadlecik from DSO, Jeff Chimenti from RatDog, and Joe Russo. Bob and Phil put this together in 2009 after the Grateful Dead finished up. Like I said these guys are killing it! http://www.furthur.net/

I've some Grateful Dead on my HDD.
Sometimes I listen this kind of music.
I love the gentle guitar playing. Their cover songs too.

I caught the Further Festival in Atlanta and Charlotte back in '98 or '99. Great shows but it was too close to Jerry's death not to be a little bummed that he wasn't there.

In memory of Calvin Russell (from Texas) who died a week ago, one of his best songs : Crossroads.

An anecdote : the cover picture of his album released in 1997 was taken in Antelope Canyon by a wellknown photographer living in Utah : Michael Fatali.
