If someone asked you to recommend a half day hike within an hours drive of Salt Lake, what's the best hike you can think of? And by that I mean a lot of scenic beauty, but not real technical as far as skill level goes (the average person from New Jersey could do it).

Thanks. I've thought about Lake Blanche. I've attempted the hike a couple of times, but have been thwarted of actually reaching the lake by weather conditions once, and by an out of shape hiking companion the other time.

I'd also say that Lake Blanche is one of the best. Not too strenuous, and nothing technical to climb, plus the views are amazing.
