WOW!!! So far it is looking like the Krum Katchers came in ahead on the trade deal!!! Breeze with 30!!! :eek7:

I didn't sacrifice anything in this trade. Brees had been riding my bench ever since week 1. I never used him. Palmer is pretty consistent - 2 TDs and 200+ yds a game. I figured I would give him to someone who could use him in exchange for a decent TE. I gave him R Smith from the Broncos to sweeten the deal, and it worked out great for me because I used Stallworth in the place of Smith, and Stallworth found the endzone twice today. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

He also gave me E. Wilford from Jacksonville, who went 47 yards and had one TD today.

I think it worked out well for both sides.

Yeah, I agree. Palmer has been money all year. That was one helluva (can I say that here? :haha:) game. I bet you wish that you had Barber in the starting line up?

I guess when the FTB is over I can try to salvage my NBA team. It might be too late by then tho. :wallbash:

Yeah that Barber kid is pretty damn good for a rookie!! I just picked him up off Free Agents the other day, and he's turned out to be a solid RB. I think Dallas is gonna continue to run him with Jones for the rest of the regular season into the playoffs, especially if he continues to put up the kind of numbers he has lately.

I guess when the FTB is over I can try to salvage my NBA team. It might be too late by then tho. :wallbash:

Ya, tell me about it. I think I have looked at my NBA team about three times in the past month, -- just long enough to kick Mr. Glass (aka Boozer) out of my starting line-up.

If it were not for bad luck I would have no luck at all..... it get screwed every week!!! My team puts up big numbers and my match up puts up bigger numbers..... The weeks I get to play a weak sister they get on a hot streak and put up their season best numbers..... I just can't win!!!!!

I have a good team (not the best) that puts up good numbers.... but the match up just never seem to fall my way cryin' in my beer....

I need three points tonight from a RB and a WR to take down the crickets. With Big Balls taking down Ice, and Blood Spillers taken down by SI I'm starting to look alright. I'm in the playoff race baby.

I believe 6 teams make the playoffs, the tie breaker for teams with the same winning percentage is total points. Top two teams get a bye in week one of the playoffs.....

At one time I found all this info in our league but I can't find it anymore..... so I could be wrong....

Last week crickets and I tied. For some reason I either lost a point or he got an extra point. Every once in awhile yahoo gets the scoring wrong, then some manager from some league figures out the scoring was wrong for a certain player and sends it to yahoo. Yahoo then changes the scoring. So more than likely the scoring is correct, but gives me another loss, bummer.

The way I see it we have 4 teams battling for 2 playoff spots..... Blood Spillers has a really weak remaining schedule. Lurpy and Ice play head to head in week 14, which will probably decide at least one playoff spot. Where the Wasps will finish is anyones guess

crickets was a co worker of mine (I left the company he is with). He's not a big football fan but finds it fun to play time to time. He isn't a uutah user cause he isn't much of an outdoors guy. I asked him to play so we could have enough players, he's proof that at least half of fantasy football is pure luck.

One year I had a league at work. The winner that year was a girl who knew nothing about football, she got lucky in the draft.

I don't know if anyone else has tried to access our fantasy teams this morning, but I just went there and in the football one, when I click on the uutah.com, I get everyone in week 41 with a bye. No joke. When I try to go to basketball, I get something like: access denied, you are not a member of this group. Will someone else try it so I know I'm not nuts? I'm going to make this same post in both the NBA and the NFL threads.

Here's the playoff rundown.

Whoever wins between Ice and lurpy will go to the playoffs.

If Blood Spillers wins he's in the playoffs.

The loser between Ice and lurpy will go if Blood Spillers and myself lose.

I will go if I win and the Blood Spillers lose, both not likely.

Crazy fun playoff race here. My predictions are Ice will beat lurpy to put himself in the playoffs. Blood Spillers will also win and go to the playoffs. However, my big call is that Blood Spillers will end up with more total points than Ice taking the #5 spot, and Ice at #6.

Damn that 1 pt tie break that went to crickets, and the stupid tie against SOB, if it weren't for those I'd be in there.

It's a close one, but the odds are stacked way too high against me. Cricket only needs 2 points to win, and his defense is going up against New Orleans. I'm pretty sure he'll get his 2 points and then some. My winning streak has come to an end. :cry1:

This time, I'm not starting him because of his injury, and because he's going against the Chicago defense. I'm starting Warner because he's playing against Houston. Now watch. Warner will give me 14, and Vick will be benched and score in the twenties!!!

accadacca, how'd you end up with Larry Johnson? I grabbed him off waivers before you did. It said he was mine as soon as he cleared waivers. What a crock!

Iceaxe
12-18-2005, 12:30 PM
When a player is on waivers anyone can make a claim on him. If more then one team claims him the team who is 1st on the wavier list gets the player.... the wavier list is initially set in reverse of draft order. If you make a wavier claim you move to the end of the list.

NOW.... I want to make a big complaint..... this is pure BULLSHIT that bottom feeders who are out of the contest are dumping good players.... the playoffs should be locked into the teams you have.

I call FOUL!!!!!!!!

I say teams that have been eliminated should have their roosters locked and there player should be eliminated from the player pool.

accadacca
12-18-2005, 03:54 PM
:comppunch: I figured it would get a reaction. I just requested him from wavers. I have no other controls? Talk to Yahoo if you think that you were ranked lower than me on the wavers? :ne_nau:

If everyone is going to get their panties in a wad, then I'll just leave him on my bench. I think the system is pretty fair, I mean anyone could have noticed him on the drop list. I will just keep him benched to keep the peace.

I will beat you all without him. :blbl:

Iceaxe
12-18-2005, 04:13 PM
So if I lose you will be happy if I give Tikki Barber to your next opponent??? I don't think so.... its a bunch of crap.

I'm not blaming accadacca for picking up an available player.... and I think its admirable that he is willing to bench him in the interest of fair play.

I think its extremely poor sportsmanship to dump your players after you have been eliminated and totally screw up what everyone has been working for all season long, which is building a team capable of making a playoff run.

I think this problem should be addressed and corrected in one of several methods.........

The practice should be banned
When you are eliminated your roster is frozen
Anyone caught dumping players (from this date forward) be eliminated from future uutah fantasy leagues

I'm open to discussion, but I'm guessing EVERYONE will consider this poor sportsmanship that ruins the fun of fair play. I would also suggest that LJ be eliminated from the avaible player pool and accadacca be allowed to replace him with a "legal" player.

Comments? Suggestions? Thoughts?

:nono:

accadacca
12-18-2005, 07:05 PM
I agree.....its cheap. I was excited to have a shot at him and I knew it had to go through the waver order. I just looked at it as the LJ sweepstakes. However, I didn't give it much thought until he actually hit my roster. Lets keep that rule in mind for next year. :2thumbs:

Since I'm out, and I'm so busy up to my eye balls I haven't been watching what has been happening. I'll take a look at what's going on and make a decision.

OK, I've taken a look and from what I can tell there is no purpose for live2ride to have dropped Larry Johnson. He is out of the playoffs and dropped Johnson for the purpose of letting someone pick him right up.

I don't know if Big Balls was in on the deal or not. I will ask Big Balls to not use Larry Johnson in your line-up. If you innocently picked Johnson up I'm sorry, it isn't fair to the other players that you picked up such a significant player. If you use him, I will remove him from your roster for that game and it will be as if you didn't have a player playing that week forfieting those points that week.

In addition, I have locked all those players that are not in the playoffs from adding or dropping anymore players.

Live2ride, if I am the commissioner next year I may not let you play in my league next year unless you give me one hell of a good reason why you dropped Johnson, if you did it on purpose, just confess.

At least I took fifth. I thought at the beginning of the season that I was going to finish 12th.

This is just great.....

"Dec 27 - The Cincinnati Bengals likely will wait until later in the week to decide whether Palmer will get the starting nod in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. The quarterback most certainly will be limited over the next couple of days, primarily as a precautionary measure, after suffering a slight groin strain in the closing minutes of last weekend's loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Advice: With their playoff spot already secured, the Bengals aren't playing for much this weekend, which could be reason enough to rest Palmer and get him healthy for the postseason. If that is the case, Jon Kitna would get the call against the Chiefs. Look for updates in the coming days. In 15 games this season, Palmer has completed 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 32 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and 252.1 yards per contest."

Thanks a lot DICKWEED!!!!! There goes my $40 down the drain! :frustrated:

Pick up Jon Kitna.

I just don't think Kitna can deliver the same numbers as Palmer. I may as well just pick up some other starting QB from the waivers - like Gus Frerotte, or something.

Geez, healthy all season, and then BAMO.....groin injury the week before the championship game!!

Yup. I agree. I think for next year instead of doing a three-way split for the cash, we should do a 50/50, with the regular season champ getting 50%, and the playoffs champ getting the other half. This seems more fair considering the final week is so crazy and unpredictable.

Thanks boys, I had a good time also, even though I spent my time feeding off the bottom. We had a hard time getting enough players to play and hope that those who took pity and joined us had a good time. Hopefully next year we can get 12 or even 10 committed players go make the season even better, we may even need two leagues the way we keep getting members signing up.

I'll be happy to host the league next year also. Now that I know we've got some serious players playing I'll come up with a more custom league and take suggestions. I've never been in a keeper league, maybe we should look into it for next year.

I don't know what a keeper league is. One of the things that makes the FF league fun is its really simple and easy to play and follow. I suggest we don't get to carried away with changing things. Having 10 or 12 teams with actual managers will be great.

I also think the season ending deal with benching players this year was kind of a oddite. Probably wouldn't design around it. Its just part of the game. I planned some of my back up players just for this situation when I seen it coming.... personally the mid season bye weeks were my pain in the butt...

So.... keep it simple, keep it fun... I like the $10 entry fee idea...
