Carpool Lane

What's up with the carpool lane? What are the rules? If I am carrying passengers and move in to the carpool lane. Then someone comes up on my

Just hit the brakes, man. The carpool lane is NOT the fast lane. People who tail you are probably alone in their car anyways, and they don't want to get caught.
They want to get in there, pass a few people and get out. I say make them get in the REAL passing lane. That's the only lane where it's the LAW where you have to be passing somebody. You actually aren't supposed to be in the fast lane unless you are passing.
As for the carpool lane, you could go 45 mph if you wanted to.
