This place isnt exactly in Utah but just over the Nevada Border. Up by Park Valley. Rabbits are running rampid. Between 5 of us we shot 131 the day after thanksgiving. And I will have you know there wasn't a shotgun in the lot of us. It was all done with 22's, pistols, and varmint rifles. So get up and slay some rabbits it's a great year. :rifle:

I have been deer hunting in that area. "rockgremlin" and I went a few years ago. It is a neat area of the state and really unexplored. We took a dirt road back that is on the west side of the Great Salt Lake for fun. It takes you out to I-80 near Wendover.

Nice work on the rabbits. I am usually packing my Remington 870 Express. Then a 22 pistol on the side just for kicks. I can

Be careful hunting rabbits in Idaho. They make you buy a non game lisence for jack rabbits, coyotes, crows etc... Getting caught is just like getting caught poaching; pretty hefty fines. I believe the non game lisence is around 80.00. Thats more than I'm willing to pay for jacks.

Uhhh.....did I say we were in Idaho........I meant Utah, Yeah! Yeah!

I thought that the Jacks were not considered a game animal so anyone could have at it? Hmm..........Non-game license? What kind of crap is that? pissed:

One of the best rabbit hunting trips I went on, was where we went out west to Wendover, and the next morning we made some fur fly.
We went on a Friday night, and got some cheap rooms at one of the casinos because a few of us had coupons we had saved up.
I taught the boys how to play Roulette, and most of us got our trip paid for.
Saturday morning, we went a little west, and then north-east so we were actually hunting in Utah. It was pretty cool. You get to see some small, strange towns out there.
I suggest a Wendover rabbit hunting extravaganza next month.

I say lets get one planned for west of Wendover. After a long night of gambling what could be better than goping out early in the morning and shooting stuff up in the desert?!?

Planning a trip to Idaho for some wabbit fun I looked into this. You have to buy a "Nongame Gun" license which is $26.50. It is then good from Jan. thru Aug. I remember buying this license on some of the trips. Since it's been a couple years I think that I forgot about it.

However if you want to hunt Jacks or others in this category from Sep. thru Dec. you have to buy the small game license for $73.50. Here is a reference link: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/licenses/fees/nrlic.cfm
